Little Girls' Rooms
Theater Playroom - These clients wanted to turn their extra room into a fantasy playroom for their children. Inspired by their love of dancing and entertaining, they built a stage, and box office and concession stand, and we painted everything in bold, Broadway/Hollywood black and white designs. Who could resist putting on a performance here?
This client wanted to bring a sunny summer day indoors for her daughter's
playroom and attached bath. We started with lots of color-washing, and
added giant flowers, a whimsical tree decorated with hearts and birds,
and some leaping frogs in the bathroom. The overall effect is like
entering a fantasy fairy garden - perfect for this 5-year-old girl and
her friends.
This client had a fabulous designer from Goodnight Room help with the
furnishings, and we added the final touch of painted ribbons and birds
and bunnies and bees on the walls, and painted details on the bed and
armoire and other pieces of furniture for an over-the-top room fit for a
princess.
Blooming Tree - This room featured a large blossoming cherry tree, and the little girl's pet dog. While I painted the walls, the client's mother painted the clouded ceiling as I offered advice and support, and we had a very fun time together.
There are several fairy-inspired rooms - some include full scenery, such as the "green nursery," and others feature just the fairy details. These are very popular, feminine and lovely rooms to paint, and each includes details unique to the little girl who lives there.
Doll house scene - This was a small area and table-top painted in a folk-style, and made to display and store a Playmobile doll house and farm set.
Devon's Room - that's my kid, in front of a small mural featuring a favorite book illustration and some of her toys and books.
Rainbows and castles are also very popular, and here are a few for examples.
Pony Room - This little girl knew just the kind of horse she wanted, down to the white stripe on its muzzle. We added some flowers for a light, feminine touch, and then the client wanted some bunnies and a tree for extra-added springtime feeling. Karen helped with this room.
Winnie-the-Pooh Wall - The two little girls who live here LOVE all things Disney, and this is
the first wall completed in their Disney-themed playroom. Eventually,
they will be surrounded by scenes featuring their favorite characters in
their most memorable moments. Very vibrant, happy and fun. I worked on
this one with Karen!
